Teucer is down ...
Teucer is not only my nick but also the name which I use in so many other places. One of these places is my machine name in the office network. This should be read as an obituary informally as my hard disk went kaput 2 days back and I was in a state of insomnia :(( :(( well all happens for good (sick note how come I can write this one) cos I would be getting a better box after all this. One note for all developers the first principle in every developers head should be BACKUP. I lost quite a bit of ......

VSS Bindings for Vs solutions.
Scott in this post happened to ask Whats the proper way to remove an item from source control ? I had faced this problem earlier which led to the investigation of what all information is stored, where and How using which a VS solution happens to know the bindings the solution maintains with a SCM. Necessity is the mother of invention (read investigation). I didnt have vs.net on the box where I had to actually take the source solution & relevant files and strip them off so that I could bind them ......

SlickRun
Check this utility

I am a keyboard based developer. I feel the keyboard is quicker than the mouse in many cases. That also makes me a command shell based developer.

SlickRun is something like a command prompt which sits on your desktop in one corner and you can type in your commands / your custom shortcuts for commands and it shall do the job for you.

isnt that Cool...

Enhacements in Yukon & XAML
A nice article by Stephen Forte on SqlJunkies Sql Server Yukon T-Sql enhacements. I particularly like the feature of CTE (Common Table Expressions) and their use recursively. Don & Chris have put together a special holiday MSDNTV show where they showcase how XAML can be used not only to describe UI of an LH application but also how one can use XAML to write normal applications. one of the things I noticed developers new to longhorn ask me or probably think is XAML is totally markup you cannot ......

Never keep your house keys inside ....
Saturday Night fever .... Me and Viju finished our session in great spirits and went out to pick up food for the night ... ASPX & ASCX Extensions and script mapping ...
Our team is now concentrating to deliver v1.1 of the application and also work is also going on in parallel regarding prototypes and things like that for 1.2. One of the important milestones we need to complete include migrating our application from Fx1.0 to Fx1.1. So every body is gearing up by installing Vs.Net 2003, registering script mappings to vroots and things like that. One of our smart team members happened to ask me what happens in case I open IIS vroot configuration and map .aspx to 1.1 ......
