Blind Confidence
The passengers on a commercial airliner have been seated and are awaiting the cockpit crew to get them under way. A murmur is heard in the back of the plane, and a few passengers on the aisle glance back to see the pilot and copilot, both wearing large, dark sunglasses, making their way up to the cockpit. However, the pilot is using a white cane, bumping into passengers right & left as he stumbles down the aisle, and the copilot is using a seeing-eye guide dog. As they pass by the rows of passengers ......

Its time I put aside my Community Star title ...
I have been recognized as a MVP on Asp/Asp.net. The official mail came last night. I believe its a new beginning in the way I look around tools & technologies. I am looking forward to more interesting challenges and avenues where I could be more productive and helpfull to the developer community at large. First thing is I need to take some more time out of my regular work and get back to Ineta dev effort I am missing a lot of action happening there. Tameem Ansari (Teucer) ......

I have downloaded and installed an interesting application - BlogJet. It's a Windows-client for my blog tool (as well as some for other tools).Actually, it was not me who wrote this text: when I launched BlogJet for the first time, it's edit window already contained this text and the program asked me to click Post and Publish button to post this text to my blog in order to test the connection (yes, and the text above is not mine too! :-)... So, I did. [Ansari] Their is one more line here which I ......

How does vs.net know that the asp.net project is of which version...
Ever wondered how vs.net 2003 is able to find out when you open a project whether or not your IIS configuration supports v1.1 of asp.net Well this is how. when you open a project in vs.net it starts talking to the web server and sets up your vswebcache folder which is otherwise used for your offline development in case the dev IIS server is not localhost It actually calls a magic file "Get_aspx_ver.aspx" from the web server. It does not matter whether your application has this file or not. But it ......

In recent times I have been seeing a lot of enthusiasm and awareness going on about performance. for instance Cowell Shah has an interesting article comparing performance between 9 different languages it makes an interesting read about how languages supported by .net perform comparing to each other. http compression topics are being most talked about especially after this post by scott and now GWB started giving out RSS feeds with compression on :). ... 2004 with a bang
2004 has started off really well.. Teucer is back on the network and this is a good dev box. Should try not to have this crashed at least in the next 9 months. ;) Their is this excellent article on msdn by Dino he basically merges the best of both worlds DHTML and Datagrids. Those were some of the features which I always wanted on the Datagrid control and I guess lot of datagrid developers would love to have in one of the most used (often badly used) control in asp.net. Dino on his site has also ......
