Around the “Guild Hall”

We had a great meeting in June.  Brian Gough, our resident SharePoint expert, introduced some of the nifty new features in Visual Studio 2010 and SharePoint 2010.  We still need to understand what comes “in the box” with SharePoint so we don’t run off and program something that already exists, but the ease of development – or maybe “ease of sensible development” – is greatly enhanced when VS 2010 is coupled with SharePoint 2010.

Since SharePoint is one of Microsoft’s most successful products, understanding how to enhance the already amazing capabilities is definitely a requirement for enterprise developers.  Or you could just get your company to consult with Brian.

Mark Wilson, our resident web master, has our schedule up for the rest of the year.  For July, Steve Willoughby of Logical Advantage will gives an deep dive on the new features in VS 2010.  If you haven’t had the chance to get into it, come and learn.  If you have already discovered your favorite new stuff, come and share.

We’ve got some real fun scheduled for August, but you will have to check out the site to see what’s coming.
