Dell Customer Service - Worst I have ever encountered ...

I have recently bought a Intel core 2 duo system with 2407FPW monitor from Dell through one of their Dell Kiosks in Toronto.I requested them to expediate the shipment since I need it early. The sales person informed me that they will try their best to get it early.  I placed the order on 12th of Novenember that was due to be delivered on 22nd November.  I got the System on 22nd but the monitor was missing.

I looked at th Packing list and the monitor was supposed to shipped with the system.

I immediately called Dell Customer care to notify them of the missing item. They informed me that by mistake the monitor is shipped seperately and gave me the tracking number and opened the case. They adviced me to wait for 24 hours. I keep calling purolator and was told the monitor will arrive after five or next day.

After 24 hours I have to call Dell again and they have to place another Order for the Monitor. I was informed since this is a missing item they epediate the order and I should get it it with 2 or 3 days. I waited for 7 days but the online status keep displaying that Monitor is in Production. Very strange that Monitor need to go through Production too. I kept calling customer care to no avail. Finally on November 29th I was told that Monitor was shipped on November 28th but they can't provide me with the Tracking Number yet and I should call on 29th. I called Customer care agin on 29th but was told quite rudely by the customer care representative that  there is no tracking no and that the Dell will not extend the warrantly period on the CPU that I already have though I can't use it. Also Dell went ahead and placed the Bell sypatico 3 month free trial which I will not be able to use til I get the monitor.

  I insisted to talk with the Customer care manager who has the same answers and was quite rude too. And told me that Monitor actualy is not even shipped because of bad weather in US and will be shipped after 2 days and implied that I should not even bother calling them for 3 more days .... Also he can't do any thing about High speed 3 month free offer that was part of Dell New order. I never talked with the ISP provider during whole process of ordering the Dell and getting the service but now He wanted me to call them directly to stop activation and Dell has nothing to do with it what so ever ..Surprise ...Surprise ......

 I was not expecting such a Customer care service from company like Dell though i have read alot of horor stories in the newsgroups. All I wanted was courteous Cutomer care representative that take initiative to solve the customer issue and are proactive and contact the customers and update them with the status of their case.

    Dell can easily provide a rental Monitor or replacement if they can't accomodate 2407 because of some production issues.

Dell Just lost another customer in IT industry and I would definitely not recommend to any one that I know. Please feel free to share your experiences with Dell ...Extending warranty on a system for 3 or 4 weeks or extending 1 month of Sypatico internet and Just showing that you are doing something about the Customer complain doesn't take much but makes all the difference and all the Good companies make sure they keep there existing and potential customers Happy ...

  I called bell Sympatico after that to directly talk to them to stop activation of High speed internet till I get the system. Th person was really courteous. I signed and received the Modem a day earlier. The Customer representative from Bell told me no problem he will make sure that the conection is not activated till I get the Dell system and in case I get charged he will readjust the charges. I smiled ... Thats what a good Customer service should be like .. though I do know that some individuals had issues with Bell too ...

Dude; you got screwed by Dell... Wlecome to the club.

I like their products, but when it comes to their Customer Care dept., It should be called the "Don't care Dept."

Honestly, send it all back and tell them you're buying something else based on your experience with customer care.

I just bought a new Dell and am getting ready to send it back. I have been two days on line and on the phone and cannot get an answer to anything I ask. Worst customer service I have ever encountered. This is the last Dell I will ever buy.

Bought a Dell, i also didn't get my moniter fro several days. Customer service kept telling me to go to the website. I DON'T HAVE A MONITER TO SEE THE WEBSITE!!!!

It makes suck a big difference when you deal with a Good Customer Serice.

I Just got a Bed from Ikea and had an issue with it. It was delivered to my home. i called there Customer Service. They were really couteous. Took all the details from me and told me that i will be contacted in 48 hours oe so. No One called and I had to call them again. Again they were very couteous and handled the matter professionaly. It took almost 5 days to replace the faulty item but the Difference between Deel and Ikea was that they updated me about the staus when ever I called. Knew what they were doing and made sure they handled the customer professionaly. Result I am very happy with there service and would definitely buy from them again. I am sure other people might have issues with Ikea too. My point is Customer Service is real vital.

When Ipurchased my Dell I was told I was getting the printer for free. I was told this by a person who did not speak English well (a call center in India), and after she asked me toifinance the order on 4 times (with me saying no 4 times). Well, I got charges for the printer, as wellas found out later that my Pentium was not nearly strong enough for what I wanted it to do. I had discussed this with the call center rep (at first hoping she would be knowledgable). I should hae done more research, then I wouldn't have bought a Dell in the first place. My monitor's power button broke 3 months later.

One of my friend purchased a high end PC from Dell last month. The PC was delivered on 27th of October. No surprises, his mother board collapsed after two days of using it. He called up Dell cust service, and was told that his 14days return warranty expired on 24th of October, and he cannot have his comp replaced. The funny part is that he ordered the PC on 21st of October, and the cust rep would not beleive him, eventhough he had documented proof of delivery and order invoice.
I made a point; rather spend a few more money and have better after sales service, then throw away money hoping you dont need the cust service from Dell!

have had laptop for 2 months, has crashed 4 times, last diagnostic has left my laptop not turning on. i am restraing myself form setting my laptop aflame or throwing it.

I recently bought a dell laptop which apparently came two days late and had several issues with the motherboard.. the so called blue raydrive.. for which i had paid extra 500 was not blue ray.... and USB drive was broken....

so here i call the 800 dell tech support...
Dell Customer Service:- Hellloooo.. Dall Cushtomer Shervice... Theez iz Tam ... Pleaze hold...(instead of Hello. Dell Customer Service.. this is Tom how may i help you)..

after 20 mins...

Helllooooo Shir... How can I help you???

Dell Customer Service:- Shooory shir... Thiz is not my department... please call 1800 900000...

so here I dial the given number after wasting an hour with that idiot...

Dell Customer Service:- Sorry madam for this... do you have screwdriver... lets open your laptop and take out the optical drive... and ship it back to our texas office and we will send you new one and you can put it back your self..

Dell customer service is the worst
I did not except delivery and I ant get them to stop calling for payment on hardware I never got !They call everyday
I write I fax I email nothing changes

I have a dell PC model Vostro 200 and in this pc the hard disk be damaged therefore, i lose my all data so i want to back up.
