Looks like a rash of pesky SPAM comments from some loser selling "cheap hydrocodone" started rolling in around 2:30am, and didn't let up until 5:30am. The IP address of the perpetrator, 82.207.2.105, points to someone in Frankfurt, Germany. (For anyone motivated enough, feel free to initiate a DoS attack!) I figured I'd have to mop up the 15 or so added junk comments, but when I went to look, all of this annoying comment SPAM is already gone! The comment counts aren't yet accurate, but that can probably ......
Isn’t it nice when something worthwhile costs only a modest amount of time? Right now Microsoft is giving away copies of Vista Business edition and Office Professional 2007 if you simply spend some time learning about the product: http://powertogether.com/ Take in 3 webcasts, and you’ve got Vista Business edition. 3 more and you get Office 2007. Get your team onboard before they run out of the free licenses! ......

Happy Thanksgiving to those of you in the States! This time of year usually means lots of travel, and often it's impossible to be everywhere that you want to. Thankfully, good quality DV camcorders, machines with fast processors, and broadband Internet speeds can allow us to enjoy a much higher quality video experience than what most people equate to a "webcam". It's easy to broadcast in fairly high quality using the free Windows Media Encoder. This walkthrough uses version 9 to deliver good quality ......
Here's an interesting trick you can do with any Vista DVD. A limited version of this was actually possible back with Win2000 and WinXP. But back then it wasn't really that handy. With the RTM of Vista though it's insanely useful, to the point that I think that every systems guy that's worth his salt should be familiar with this. It allows you to do some excellent troubleshooting with only a Windows Vista DVD. And not just on a Vista machine. You can use this to troubleshoot a copy of XP, Win2K3 Server, ......
Was just checking out the fray of the PS3 sales, and this was in the list: This Arkansan is going to get a pretty penny for his PS3: Okay, so maybe the last 75 bids are bogus, but still someone is going to cough up 3 or 4 grand for that chunk of plastic and silicon. Maybe Blu-Ray really will win this format war after all. And maybe I should have gotten in line waiting with the rest of those folks starting yesterday ......
Thanks, Mindy, for reminding us of this important legislation. I haven't paid enough attention to it yet, and took a moment to read about it this morning. Great coverage can be found in Scott Fulton's article that hit BetaNews on Friday afternoon. The big telcos have deep pockets, and are no doubt lobbying pretty seriously for this one as it would enable them to get additional revenue from those with a large and busy Internet presence like YouTube. It would also squeeze out the little start-ups that ......
