Should the girls have a female only geek dinner?

Now here's a question... Should we have a women only geek dinner?  The reason I ask this is because I just wonder how many women in technology really socialise in the technology industry to get contacts?  Obviously the men do, we have seen that with the other geek dinners. 

I have to say I felt like a real minority at the last geek dinner that I attended, wouldn't it be nice to just get all the girls together.  Have a nice girlie dinner and chat about technology and stuff.  It would be even better if we could entice a really good female technology speaker or 2...

Give me a shout if you like the idea, and we can get it organised...

Cheeky!!! Let your imagination run wild... But it can stay there in your imagination... It's not going to happen like that in reality. Sorry to disappoint you! ;)

I'll post more details if it does go ahead. Spread the word. I only thought of it a little while ago. We really need a good female speaker.

Hmmm.. maybe we should organise the 54-odd bloggers on your feedmap.net and have a BIG dinner :-) or a big party !!

Helen: Yes to the talking about cute geek boys, and no to the pink IPods around me... (I can't stand pink! Dave will vouch for me on that one!)

Dave: Of course you can help if you like... at least i know you won't be hitting on all the pretty girls! (Unlike Daniel who looooves to think about all the girls together...)

Peter: If you would like to organise a big bloggers in the local area dinner from feedmap, go for it. I'd be up for it.

Sarah asked whether we should have a women's only geek dinner. My immediate reaction to these suggestions is usually no, I tend to react against anything that restricts its audience in any way. For me, I'd ask the question differently...

There's a London Geek Dinner for Girls only on the 16th August. Visit the wiki and sign up. Sounds like a fun evening....
