TechEd Europe 2006 Day 2!
OK it's day 3 and I'm a little behind on the details for what went on at TechEd yesterday... so much to do and so little time. However this time I managed to escape for a bit and go to a few sessions. The first session that I attended was Anders Hejlsberg's session on .net 3.0, the session was totally over subscribed with an overflow room that had the presentation projected onto it. The scores from that particular session's feedback are the highest so far!!! (yes the speakers in the speakers lounge ......

TechEd Europe 2006... Day 1
OK so I am sat here in the speakers lounge at TechEd Europe 2006 and have been talking to all sorts of people from Microsofties to independent Consultants. I was chatting away to Mike Hall and we were saying that we should do some sort of little chat or question and answer session on mobility so if anyone has any burning questions that they would like Mike to try answering I will see what i can do... just post them here and we will go through them. The other thing is I have the access to all the ......

TechEd Europe and ITForum 2006
I'm off to TechEd Europe and ITForum 2006 in November and I'm wondering who else is off over there! From what I understand the two events have very different audiences, the geeks and the techies will be at TechEd and the IT professionals and architects will be at ITForum... Hmmm... so what is the difference between the ITPro and the Ubergeek? Surely they have the same aims? Who knows... maybe I will find out more when I am there! Look out for the girly geek dinners that are going there both weeks, ......

A new blog just for the girly geeks
It was pointed out to me that my "mobile blog" has a lot of "girl geek" stuff on it and is becoming interlaced... as such a friend suggested that I should have an additional blog just for the girl geek stuff. Well I sat and thought about it this evening and it does make a lot of sense. I am hoping that it won't stop as many people hearing about the girl geek stuff and this is my only concern with splitting them apart as 2 seperate blog sites. For now however the new site is Girly Geekdom and for ......

SQL Everywhere supported on Compact Flash!
Microsoft announced to me today that they are now supporting SQL Everywhere and SQL Mobile on Compact Flash cards. This is a big step forward from them. It opens up the SQL Everywhere database to run on enterprise devices and on some of the more obscure Windows CE style devices that can run directly off of a Compact Flash card. I found this out by trying to get to the bottom of a piece of documentation in MSDN about SQL Everywhere stating that Microsoft would not support implementations of the database ......

Why you should talk at Developer Developer Developer Day No 4!
Developer, Developer, Developer Day (DDD) is all about technology and the community! As a valued member of the technology community it is your duty to participate and shape the community as you see fit (assuming you are available on the 2nd December and are near Reading in the UK!). This means that you should take the opportunity to teach others and learn from those others around you. (Are you listening Mr Dave "SOA" Oliver!) Many people who do talks at DDD are nervous about talking in front of ......

Off over to Nice: MEDC Europe
I'm off over to Nice on Friday for a bit of a break from things and also for the Mobile Embedded Developer Conference, Europe. I guess I will catch some of you over there to catch up and also to share ideas etc. If you are going to be over there then do let me know. I will be in Nice from 2nd - 11th June. I will be out training for London to Brighton whilst I am out there, so long as I can manage to find or hire road bike that has look pedals on it. (for cleats... need practice with my road shoes) ......
